| Todays Topic: Who's Ur Daddy?
Define Disipline.
The Dictionary defines it as : training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character.
Has anyone ever Disiplined you? Maybe your dad disiplines you when you get into trouble or are doing things that you shouldn't be doing. Maybe he lets you get yourself into trouble so you can learn a lesson from it?
Read Hebrews 12: 4-11
In this whole passage, what is God compared as?
What does this whole passage tell us about God's fatherly L.O.V.E?
What do you think God's disipline is?
I don't think that it nessicarily means just punishing us when we do something wrong. I think it's like, when bad stuff happens to us, like that disiplines us, it molds us into who we are, and it teaches us something. Like when something happens and you learn from it, even is it was bad. I personally think that is part of God's disipline. What do you think? You don't always have to agree with me you know. What are your personal takes on this?
Have you ever quit trying something because someone showed you that you were doing something the wrong way?
I know in my life recently, God showed me that i was putting some other stuff before him and that i needed to fix it. That made me feel like quiting, but I didn't, and I fixed it and I feel alot closer to God now.
Verse 5 comes right out and tells you not to quit when God corrects you!
Verses 7-8 say that we are God's children, and his children HAVE to be disiplined or they aren't his children. Has God disiplined you lately? I hope so...
Look at the begining of Verse 9, it says that we respected your earthly fathers, so what kind of respect should we have for out Heavenly Father for the disipline he gives us?!?
It says our fathers disiplined us because it was best for us. I Know that God only does what's best for me. Don't you think he would only do what is best for his children? Read Romans 8:28. It plainly says that all things happen for the good of those who love Him. I know that he wouldb't ever do anything bad for me. Even if you go through a time in your life that feels like nothing good can come out of, it will. It wouldn't happen t oyou unless God thought you could handle it. Maybe you will go through a tough time, so that when someone else is going through the same thing that you could help them. God used a situation I went through to help someone else. I'll tell you about thet another day.
Look at Verse 11.
That's kind of what I went through, what happened to me was painful when it happened, but I learned a heck of a lot from it and now I'm at peace with it and am trying to be living the right way.
That's how God rolls. haha. In't it amazing how awesome He is, how He knew, before the earth was even created, that i was going to be born, and I was going to start of on the right path, then I was going to go the oppisite way for a long time, He knew that I was going to screw up, not listen to Him, turn my back to Him, disappoint Him, and break His heart a million times, so you know what He did? He sent his only Son to die for me anyways. Even knowing all that, He still sent his Son to die for me. (1 Timothy 1:5) Because God also knew that I was going to come back to Him on June 22, at Camp Cowen. He knew, and He still Knows. He will always know whats going to happen to me, and He has amazing plans for my life.
God loves you unconditionally, just like a Father. He's the best father you could ever ever ever ask for. He watches out for you, sometimes He may seem a little over-protective, but He just want to keep you out of trouble. Every morning He wakes you with a beautiful sunrise, so you can see how much He adores you, and at night, He puts the stars out, so that you can see how awesome He is and not be afraid. He comforts you when you are upset, and rejoices with you when you're happy. He gives you more than you'll ever need, and he'll always protact his children. He tells you He loves you and wrote you a 1,000 page love letter, all you have to do is read it. He's the best dad you could ask for, and He's yours!
So, Who's your dady now?
Pray that you can accept God's disapline and become the best child because you have the best Daddy. Tell him how amazing He is. Sing him a song about how awesome He is. He just loves to spend time with you!

What does this say about God's plan for your life?
Has God reveled any part of his plan for you?
Fullfiling God's plan takes commitment from you, you won't just wake up one day and all of the sudden lead a thousand souls to the Lord, it takes alot on your part, seeking Him, and praying for him to tell you what his plan is for you!
What do you think God has in store for your life. Once you've given your life to Him, there's no limit to what He can do with your life.
So, I want you to spend some time reading about people who've let God use them in incredible ways. look in the old testiment, it's full of them. or a book i'd recomend is Jesus Freaks by DC Talk. if you live near me you can borrow it.

| Ok guys, i know i said we'd be doing the book of Ruth, but i think this is better, cause i know a lot of people are dealing with this.
What does it mean to be physically close to someone?
What does it mean to be spiritually close to someone?
Read Psalm 139:7-10
Where can you go that God won't be there?
Where can you flee from his presence?
He is going to be near you no matter where you go isn't He?
BUT, i know someone is sitting out there thinking, "I just don't feel close to God..."
well, here's something i've learned. you aren't going to feel close to God when your at home the way you felt colse to God when you were at church camp. You always can't feel that way. I know i've felt kind of farther from God than usuall these past few days, but he is never going to leave you. never ever ever ever. it says so in Dueteronomy 31:6 and 8, Joshua 1:5, 1 Kings 8:57, and Hebrews 13:5.
What could possibly make us feel distant from God? Sin perhaps. yeah, that's right. sin makes us feel distant from God.
What is the sin that keeps seperating you from God?
If you sincerely repent of that sin, you won't feel as distant from God.
So, keep reading the Bible and praying everyday, and you'll feel closer to Him.
Pray that you can give up the sin that is making you feel distant from God, and pray that you will feel close to him again.

| has really been discouraging to be. jus stuff. like witnessing to people and them not listening to you. that can really hurt a person. amd tyler. was my best friend, but he's been a real stumbling block to me latly. i jus have been spending less time with God and more time with him. so i've told him not to talk to me untill i get thing straightened out. i hope i'm doing the right thing. i really do, i jus wanna feel as close to Jesus as i did at Cowen. but i dont think i can be. i can't lose what i have. it means to much to me. i can't give up. but after the witnessing thing. i feel like i could. but i can't/ i know this is confusing you. it's been confusing me too. i just. i dont know. i dont. | | |
